Roda is a Greek village mainly designed for tourism during the 4-6 month period of the summer; the village is known to be almost a ghost town in the winter.
The village is at the centre of the north coast of the Greek island of Corfu. The village of Roda usually/normally opens up around May time and closes down for winter around October time. The village is known after its first Hotel, the Roda Inn, whilst its first Restaurant was The Dolfin. Since the first two main tourist attractions, other facilities have been created and placed in Roda for the support of tourists staying in the area during their holiday. The other attractions are: Maggie's Place, Maggie's, Smileys, Pirates bar, The Affrodite Hotel, Cruisoes, the family fun pub Tropicana, The Compass bar, Theodores family fun and pool bar, Roxannes, and three other summer bars which optionally for locals do put in an effort to stay open through the winter as well, and especially for those newly become locals (tourists who have converted to locals). these three bars change their names often as each bar has gone from one person's running to another quite often. Usually so, that one such bar has had the names: Jaspers, The Pub, The Greek Taverna, and The Tavern, all in a period of 5 years. Roda, is also known for its many Mini Markets, and Shops.
Roda, has been in tourism existance since the 70's. With its very first attractions, 'Roda Inn', and 'The Dolfin', after such, more tourist attractions, such as The Affrodite Hotel, Maggie's, Maggie's place, Smileys family fun bar, the Tropicana, cocktail bar and family fun pub, the Compass bar, Theodores family fun pub and pool, and many other Mini Markets, and Shops. Roda also has its own Greek Orthodox Church.
